How to install eSIM on iPhone and Android
Step-by-step instructions for installing a LocalSIM eSIM on iPhone and Android: scanning the QR code, selecting the data line, and checking connectivity after activation.
Before you start
- Check that your phone supports eSIM and is not carrier locked.
- Connect to stable Wi-Fi before installing the profile.
- Open your LocalSIM QR code email on another device or prepare the manual activation code.
- Do not delete the eSIM after installation unless you are sure the profile can be reissued.
Installing eSIM on iPhone
- Open Settings on your iPhone and go to Cellular or Mobile Data.
- Tap Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan.
- Choose Use QR Code and scan the QR code from your LocalSIM email.
- Confirm adding the eSIM and wait until the profile activation finishes.
- Name the new line LocalSIM, keep your primary SIM for calls, and select the eSIM for mobile data.
- Enable Data Roaming for the LocalSIM line if you are using the plan abroad.
Installing eSIM on Android
- Open Settings and go to Network & Internet or Connections.
- Choose SIMs, SIM Manager, or Mobile Network, then tap Add eSIM.
- Choose setup by QR code and scan the QR code from your LocalSIM email.
- Confirm adding the eSIM and wait until the profile finishes downloading.
- Name the line LocalSIM, keep your primary SIM for calls, and select the eSIM for mobile data.
After installation
- Turn on the new eSIM only at your destination if the plan is intended for travel.
- Open cellular settings and make sure mobile data is assigned to the installed eSIM.
- If data does not start immediately, toggle airplane mode, then confirm data roaming is enabled for the eSIM.
